Privacy at Kaadi

Plain English, no legal gymnastics. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it properly.

Kaadi is a digital business card. The whole point is to share some of your details with people you meet — so being clear about what is public, what is private, and what we keep matters more here than in most apps.

01

What we collect

Only what the product needs to work. Nothing is bought from data brokers, and we do not build a profile of you beyond your own card.

  • Account details. Your email address or phone number, and a password you choose. Passwords are hashed — we cannot read them.
  • Card content. Everything you type or upload into the editor: name, title, organisation, bio, numbers, addresses, handles, links, photos, logo and any short clip.
  • Card activity. Counts only — how many times your card was opened, how many people tapped Save Contact, and which links were clicked. We do not record who those visitors are.
  • Technical basics. Approximate country, device type and browser, kept for security and for knowing which phones to optimise for.
02

What is public, and what is not

Your card at kaadi.ng/yourname is public by design. Anyone with the link, the QR code or your NFC tag can open it, and search engines may index it.

Only put on your card what you are happy for a stranger at a conference to see. Your login email, password and payment details never appear on the card, even if they are the same email you show publicly.

03

Photos, logos and clips

Your photo, company logo and optional short clip are stored so your card can load quickly. Images are compressed and resized on upload — partly for speed on slow networks, partly so we hold no more than we need.

We do not run face recognition on your photo, and we do not use your images to train any model.

04

Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Paystack. When you pay by card, bank transfer or USSD, your card number, PIN and OTP go directly to Paystack — they never touch our servers.

What we keep is the boring part: the plan you chose, the amount, the date, the last four digits, and whether the payment succeeded. We need that to know your card should be live and to send you a receipt.

05

Who else sees your data

A small, named list of service providers, each doing one job:

  • Paystack — processing payments and subscriptions.
  • Our hosting provider — running the servers and storing your card.
  • Our email provider — sending sign-in links, receipts and trial reminders.
06

What we will never do

We do not sell your data. We do not rent it, and we do not hand your contact list to advertisers. There are no third-party ad trackers on kaadi.ng or on your public card.

We will only disclose your information if a Nigerian court or a lawful order from a competent authority requires it — and where we are allowed to tell you, we will.

07

Cookies

One cookie keeps you logged in. One remembers light or dark preference in the editor. That is it — no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels. Your public card page sets no cookies at all, which is part of why it loads fast.

08

How long we keep things

While your account is open, we keep your card so you can edit it. If your trial or subscription lapses, your card is paused — visitors see a short “inactive” page — but nothing is deleted. Pay again and it returns exactly as it was.

If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your card and personal details within 30 days. Payment records are kept for seven years, because tax law requires it.

09

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:

  • Show you a copy of everything we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your account and card.
  • Export your card content in a file you can take elsewhere.
  • Object to a particular use of your data, or withdraw consent you gave earlier.
10

Security

Traffic runs over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access to production data is limited to the few people who need it, with two-factor authentication. No system is perfect — if a breach ever affects you, we will tell you and the Commission promptly, with what happened and what to do about it.

11

Age

Kaadi is built for working professionals. You must be 18 or older to create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a child, we will remove it.

12

Changes to this page

When we change something that matters, we update the date at the top and email you before it takes effect. Older versions are available on request — just ask.

Ask us anything about your data
